NOTICE OF APPOINTMENT OF DATE FOR THE EXERCISE OF ELECTORS’ RIGHTS

Financial year ending 31st March 2020

  1. Date of Announcement 27th July 2020.

2. Each year the Annual Accounts are audited by the Auditor General for Wales. Prior to this date, any interested person has the opportunity to inspect and make copies of the accounts and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts etc. relating to them for 20 working days on reasonable notice. For the year ended 31st March 2020 these documents will be available on reasonable notice on application to:

THE TOWN CLERK AND FINANCIAL OFFICER, BUCKLEY TOWN COUNCIL, COUNCIL OFFICES, BUCKLEY, FLINTSHIRE CH7 2JB – between the hours of 9am and 12pm on Monday to Friday – commencing on 1st September 2020 and ending on 28th September 2020.

3. From 1st September 2020 until the audit has been completed, Local Government Electors and their representatives also have:

. the right to question the Auditor General about the accounts. The Auditor General can be contacted via BDO LLP, Arcadia House, Maritime Walk, Ocean Village, Southampton, SO14 3TL; and

. the right to attend before the Auditor General and make objections to the accounts or any item in them. Written notice of any objection must first be given to the Auditor General via BDO LLP, Arcadia House Maritime Walk, Ocean Village, Southampton, SO14 3TL. A copy of the written notice must also be given to the council.

4. The audit is being conducted under the provisions of the Public Audit (Wales) Act 2004, the Accounts and Audit (Wales) Regulations 2014 and the Auditor General for Wales’ Code of Audit Practice.

Please note that during the current Covid-19 pandemic, the offices of the Town Council are closed to the public. Should that continue to be the case from 1st to 28th September 2020 then special arrangements will be made for any interested party to view the documents but only on a prearranged appointment. Flintshire Summer Playschemes 2020 in Buckley

Flintshire County Council Play Development Team in partnership with Buckley Town Council, Urdd Gobaith Cymru, Flintshire Families Disability Service and Welsh Government, announce that the Summer Playschemes will be held from Monday 17th to Friday 28th August 2020 (Monday to Friday). Pre-registration is essential for all site locations and there will be a maximum 28 children permitted per session.

All sessions are free of charge for children aged 5 to 12 years and all Covid-19 controls will be in place on site including gel stations at entrance and exit points. All games and activities will be organised with social distancing measures in place.

Full information and parent/carer consent forms are now available on line on the Flintshire County Council website: Summer Play Schemes (https://www.flintshire.gov.uk/en/Resident/Schools/Flintshire-Summer-Playscheme.aspx). Assistance in completing the forms is available.

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation, Flintshire County Council are sadly unable to offer the “Share your Lunch” scheme this year. However, for all the Playschemes in Buckley, a meal will be provided to every child attending every playscheme every day.

The Flintshire Buddy Scheme, as in previous years, will be an integral part of this provision, providing 1-1 support for children with disabilities.

The Playschemes in Buckley will be held at the following locations:-

Morning Playschemes – 10.30am to 12.30pm – Buckley Westwood CP School and Buckley Elfed field.

Afternoon Playschemes – 2pm to 4pm – Buckley Drury Park (Mount Pleasant Play Area) and Buckley Higher Common.

Flintshire Connects – Buckley

Flintshire County Council will be operating a limited service at the above location on the first floor of the Buckley Library Building on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th March 2020. This is due to essential maintenance works, the access to the first floor will therefore be restricted on those days. Customers will be unable to access the payment kiosk located on the first floor to make cash payments. Flintshire Connects staff will work from the Library on these days to assist customers including support with online payments. Flintshire County Council has advised that notices will be displayed in the centre to provide customers with advance warning.

The two additional attached documents provide details of local health services within a five mile radius of Buckley Town Centre together with details for the regional hospitals.
