Welsh Government announce grant support for Start Up businesses First Minister Mark Drakeford has today announced a start-up grant to support new businesses dealing with the severe impact of Coronavirus. Joint statement from Welsh Government, WLGA and support staff trade unions On the 3rd June, the Minister for Education confirmed the Welsh Government’s proposal for schools to reopen to all pupils on 29th June to ‘check in, catch up and prepare’ ahead of the summer break. Complex and long-standing disadvantages exposed by coronavirus pandemic – report finds A major report today reveals the complex and long-standing factors contributing to the disproportionate impact coronavirus is having on Wales’ black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) communities. Pilot programme to measure coronavirus prevalence in waste water treatment plants A pilot programme which will flag early signs of the coronavirus in Welsh communities by monitoring sewage systems, has been awarded almost half a million pounds – the Health Minister Vaughan Gething has confirmed. £3 million given to Fire and Rescue Authorities to help the response to national emergencies Fire and Rescue Authorities (FRAs) in Wales have been awarded £3 million in funding by Welsh Government, to support national resilience capabilities and the response to national emergencies. Consultation to tackle supply chain issues across UK dairy sector launched A consultation to tackle supply chain issues across the UK dairy sector and provide new fairer conditions for milk contracts has today been launched by UK Governments. Daily News Conferences The Welsh Government holds a daily 12.30pm media briefing about coronavirus supported by a BSL translator. They are live-streamed on our @WelshGovernment Twitter channel and broadcast live on BBC One Wales and S4C. ![]() Symptom Study Help us fight coronavirus by reporting your health daily, even if you feel well. You can help us fight coronavirus by completing a daily health survey on the COVID-19 symptom study app. This app is for everyone, not just for those who have symptoms. The app will help us understand the symptoms and spread of COVID-19. By answering some quick questions, you can help us plan our response to coronavirus. We will not share the answers you give us beyond the NHS and trusted organisations working directly with the NHS in response to coronavirus. Test, Trace, Protect strategy A campaign is underway aimed at informing the general public and critical workers of the Welsh Government’s Test, Trace, Protect strategy. The website has been updated with the latest information on the strategy, including guidance for employers (https://gov.wales/test-trace-protect-coronavirus). New video and animated social assets have been produced for use across paid-for campaigns and for stakeholders to share through their own channels.
